Cuisine of Urumqi 烏魯木齊食譜

I took a flight of seven hours from Shenzhen to Urumqi of the North-West, including a stopover in Wuhan. Actually, its a trip for Fung Shui consultancy, but the client treated me with authentic Xin Jiang cuisine. Lamb surely is the main course.It is served in different styles as shown in above and below. One of the particulars is that there are a lot of appetizers, that is before the main course come, you might be filled with different kinds of snacks.The city of Urumqi is actually divided into two parts, one part is mainly consisted of Han tribes and another is of the  Uyghur(維吾爾) people. The latter seemed to be in a foreign nation. People seemed to be in the same skin color of people in middle east or turkey, their spoken Chinese language is quite poor and they use their language and word of Uyghur.       Please scroll on the right hand side of this page, and you will see a column named “Categories”.
